6 inch by 60 inch DuraTech Stainless Steel Chimney Pipe is for Indoor and Outdoor use but is required when transitioning from Interior to Exterior

DuraTech Stainless Steel Chimney Pipe is a double wall insulated Class A all fuel chimney vent pipe. This five foot section allows you to safely pass through your roof line without the need for multiple sections of pipe and connectors. DuraTech features light weight insulation, twist-lock fittings, support boxes with factory installed starter sections, elbows with 360 degree swivel base, select black finish pipe lengths, and five foot length pipe sections such as this product.

Whenever your vent run goes through its first wall or a ceiling all components from that point on are required to be Class A double or triple wall stainless steel. Galvanized components may be allowed to be used on the interior of the home, but it is always recommended to refer to the appliance manual to determine the proper size and style of venting that is required. We also offer the 6 inch by 60 inch DuraTech Galvanized pipe section as well.

6 inch by 60 inch DuraTech Chimney Pipe can only be used in DuraTech venting systems and cannot be combined with non DuraTech components

Every chimney pipe manufacturer prohibits the mixing of different brands of chimney pipe. For this reason each brand creates a slightly different connection locking system for securing pipe components to each other and if used with a different brand these connections will not be fit properly and will not offer a secure fit.

Using even just 1 component from a different brand will void the manufacturer's warranty on your entire chimney system including the warranty for your heating appliance itself.

Nearly all venting manufacturer's do not label their pipe, so if you do not know what brand of venting you have, this means that most often you have to replace the entire vent system. While this can be a costly expense, it is the safest option. One insecure connection could lead to a chimney fire and this can result in not only property damage but also loss of life for you or a loved one. This is why chimney venting safety is so important.

Why should I choose this 60 inch pipe instead of going with smaller sections of pipe?

It is important to plan out your entire vent run before purchasing any components. We offer a handy Chimney Wizard to help you figure out all the chimney sections and components that you need for your vent project.

It is important to have as few seams as possible in your run. Seams refer to the joints where your venting components join together. There are several advantages and benefits of having fewer seams including:

  • Lower risk of Leaks - The fewer seams that you have, the less of a chance of moisture entering your chimney system. If water and moisture enter your chimney it can cause a break down of your chimney liner, added corrosion and the longer it is left untreated the moisture can cause more intense damage over time.
  • Better Draft- Seams create turbulence in your venting system and the more seams the more it disrupts the flow of exhaust gases. The more disruptions that you have the more your draft efficiency drops. The better your efficiency the better your system will be at properly venting the combustion byproducts that are released during you fires. The more seams the greater the chance of back draft and the more harm this can cause on your appliance.
  • Improved Safety - Every seam is a potential catch point where creosote can accumulate. Creosote is a flammable byproduct of combustion. The longer creosote is left untreated the more chance it has of producing a chimney fire.
  • Cleaner Aesthetic - If your chimney system is visible, having fewer seams will give your system a cleaner and more visually appealing look.
  • Easier Installation - Fewer seams means fewer components to purchase and to put together. This also means fewer connections and sealing points for your installer.
  • Cost Savings - While it may seem like you are saving money by going with shorter sections of pipe, it actually costs you significantly more. If you need to go 5 feet in your venting, you can purchase this 60 inch chimney section and that would be all you need. If you want smaller components, then you will have to purchase 2 - 30 inch chimney sections which will cost more together than purchasing the single component. You can check out all of our DuraTech products and price them out for yourselves.

The other thing to keep in mind when considering the components of your vent run is what is approved for use in your area. You and your installer will want to check with local and state codes as well as review the manual for your appliance. The manual will list all of the requirements for the venting system.

Nice long length

Nice that single piece is available in this long a length thus avoiding excess joints. I also like the 6" Class A chimney that is smaller outside diameter than the triple wall pipes. Makes a sleeker looking installation.

This company is terrible.

I used the chimney wizard. Had everything sent exactly how it said it should. They sent the wrong chimney. Because there is a difference between both 6in dura vent and dura plus.

I received it. Immediately saw it was wrong, called the company and they stuck me with return shipping. When it was free to be sent to me.

The customer service was terrible. Delayed and rude on the phone.

These idiots sell to the regular public but act like we’re supposed to know the difference between all the different chimneys they sell.

Absolute crap show. I’ll never buy again from this place.

60 inch chimney

Returned this and they say they never received it so I'm not getting credit. How can you lose a 5 foot box and a minimum of a foot diameter. Wrote a review before and still can't get credit. Seems odd

Q: "What is the inside diameter of this pipe"

A: Chimney pipe is listed based on the inside diameter of the pipe. So when it says 6 inch by 60 inch Stainless Steel Venting, it means that it is sixty inches long and has an inside diameter of six inches. The outside diameter of this Dura Tech stainless steel pipe is eight inches.

Answer this question

Q: "Is this UL-103HT Class A listed? I see it is UL-103 but I cannot find any pipe on your site that is UL-103HT Class A."

A: DuraTech, DuraPlus, and ShastaVent are all UL103HT Class A Pipes. Anything UL103 tested is tested to meet the 103HT standards (HT just stands for high temperature) - So any of these brands would work for you.
