Cast-Iron Stove Pipe Damper - Do I need a damper in my wood stove pipe?

The 6" Cast-Iron Stovepipe Damper features a spring-loaded, removable shaft and a versatile design that can be used with any wood stove! With the proper use of a damper, you can manipulate the flames and heat by controlling the airflow into the firebox by opening and closing the damper. This keeps your house at optimal temperatures and your wood consumption to a minimum. Optimal temperatures vary by house.

How to Set Damper - Should fireplace or wood stove damper be open or closed?
